The Modern CTO Circle
A technology leadership platform for executives making better technology decisions — through deeper thinking, practical tools, independent advisory and an open circle of peers.

The Modern CTO Circle is built around one idea: better technology decisions require more than technology expertise. They require coherence between strategy, architecture, organization, investment and execution.
TMCC develops the frameworks, diagnostics and advisory methods used to examine those relationships — and creates an open environment where senior technology leaders can exchange what they are learning from the work itself.
Four components form one system.
- Knowledge
- Tools
- Advisory
- Circle
The longer-term direction is to make more of that methodology usable without requiring traditional consultant time for every question — progressively turning structured knowledge into something organizations can use more independently.

Mustafa Sadek is a technology and product executive with more than 30 years of experience working at the intersection of business strategy, product and technology.
His career spans global organizations including Intel and Nike, entrepreneurial ventures, and senior technology leadership across the GCC. He founded and built UrbanBuz, a customer loyalty and marketing technology company operating across eight countries with more than $3 billion in transaction volume.
As Chief Technology & Product Officer at Datanuum, Mustafa led the technology and product organization behind an enterprise customer engagement platform operating across multiple markets. His remit spanned product, engineering, architecture, data and cloud infrastructure, working directly with business leaders and clients to translate commercial objectives into technology strategy and execution.
Across his career, he has worked with leading organizations across the GCC and beyond, spanning retail, telecom, luxury and healthcare.
The common thread has been the challenge of turning business ambition into a technology organization capable of delivering it — aligning strategy, architecture, data, people, investment and execution so that each reinforces the others.
That experience shaped the central thesis behind The Modern CTO Circle: technology programs rarely stall because organizations lack activity. They stall when the foundations underneath that activity are not strong enough for capability to compound.
TMCC turns more than three decades of operating experience into frameworks, diagnostic instruments and founder-led advisory designed to help technology leaders understand those foundations, identify where they are breaking down and make better decisions about what comes next.
The method stays close to the work.
The advisory work is deliberately not structured like a traditional consulting model. The person developing the methodology is the person applying it. That keeps the distance between the question, the evidence and the judgment short. The structure also allows evidence from future advisory engagements to feed back into the tools and frameworks — sharpening the methodology as it encounters real organizational conditions. There is no institutional consulting layer to maintain and no technology product that the advisory is designed to sell. The work exists to improve the quality of the decision.
Better technology decisions require more than expertise. They require coherence.
